Nicola Wood, Manager / Play Leader


Nicola has a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree in Primary Education: Early Years / Key Stage 1.
This is a Level 7 qualification, which means she can look after up to 13 children aged 3 and over, or 4 children aged 2 – 3.


Additional qualifications:
* Special Educational Needs Joint Initiative Training (University of Gloucestershire/ University of
   London’s Institute of Education)
* Designated Safeguarding Lead Officer
* Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
* CIEH Level 2 Health and Safety


Nicola has also attended local training courses for Makaton, Inclusivity & Diversity, Creative
Curriculum and FGM Awareness..

 

Ellie Palmer, Deputy Manager (on Maternity Leave)


Ellie holds a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification supporting children’s learning and development.
She has previously worked in a private day nursery caring for children from two to three years of age with experience of creating individual learning plans and maintaining online learning journals.
Ellie grew up in Cam and lives near Gloucester with her partner, daughter, and new baby.

*Child Protection Induction Training
  (Designated Safeguarding Lead training pending)
* Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
* Introduction to Makaton
* Recognising and preventing FGM

 

Kevin Boulting, Deputy Manager (Maternity cover January 2023 – January
2024)

Kevin holds a Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s Workforce (Early Learning and
Childcare). He has worked for a variety of settings in the local area including the former Treetops
Centre in Dursley, caring for children aged two and above. Kevin lives in Gloucester with his family.

Additional qualifications / training include:
? Child Protection Inter-Agency Level 3 (Designated Safeguarding Lead)

? Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene

 

Meg Carter, Play Assistant


Meg completed a B.A. (Hons) degree in Primary Education in 2022, during which she worked with
children of all ages including those in Reception classes. She has joined us on a temporary contract
while she explores an alternative career in the acting profession. The playgroup will continue its
search for a permanent member of staff. Meg lives in Cam.
