Uley Under 5s Playgroup is a childcare setting for children aged 2 years to 4 years old, helping them to prepare for the big wide world of school! Based in Uley village in the heart of the Cotswolds, surrounded by the towns of Cam, Dursley, Nympsfield, Horsley, and Stroud; Uley Under 5s Playgroup provides sessions throughout the week in a busy and community-oriented environment.

Children at Uley Under 5s Playgroup have the opportunity to explore the countryside around the hall on guided walks with the staff, visiting many local areas of outstanding beauty and natural interest, as well as our local community shop and post office, church, and excellent village school. Preschool-aged children benefit from rising-fives sessions incorporated into their playgroup day, as well as numerous visits to the reception class and chances to engage in school activities such as the nativity, harvest festival, summer picnic, and sports day. We are also lucky enough to have frequent access to the community orchard, where the children are able to grow their own plants and flowers. Last year's sunflowers and potatoes were a great success!

We are all looking forward to the start of the new autumn term on Wednesday September 5th

We are pleased to announce that our new opening times will remain the same as last term:

* Mon – 8.30am-1pm

* Wed – 8.30am-3pm

* Thurs - 8.30am-3pm

* Fri - 8.30am-3pm

We can still offer the earlier 8.30am start to help with getting to work and school, and similar to other settings, we are required to impose a couple of rules to help fund this:

* 2 year-olds can start at 8.30am or 9am so the minimum session length will be 4 hours

* All 3 and 4 year-olds will be charged from 8.30am regardless of the time they start e.g, a minimum 4.5 hour session on a Monday, and a minimum 6.5 hour session on the other days.

For self-funded children, we are able to keep the rates in line with local authority rates:

* £4.90 per hour for 2 year-olds

* £3.90 per hour for 3 and 4 year-olds

Uley Under 5s Playgroup will now be open to all children aged 2-4, from 8.30am - 3pm! We currently have a few places for under 3s in early summer so please contact Nicola Wood for more details and session availability at: manager@uleyplaygroup.co.uk

* Saturday November 24th – Winter Fair in the Village Hall, to include a Santa’s Grotto and Santa riding through Uley on a tractor at 4pm. Not to be missed!

* Beat the Blues January 26th 7.30 - 11pm - Live Blues band Route 61
